Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Sr. Store Keeper role based in Kolkata. The Sr. Store Keeper is responsible for overseeing the receipt, storage, and issue of materials, ensuring accurate inventory records and proper documentation. Daily tasks include supervising unloading activities, organizing and packing materials, monitoring stock levels, and coordinating with project and procurement teams to maintain material availability. The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe store area, verifying material quality and quantities against purchase documents, and enforcing company procedures for stock movement. The Sr. Store Keeper is expected to lead store staff, support periodic audits, and contribute to efficient material management for ongoing construction projects.
Qualifications
Strong inventory-focused skills, including Inventory Management and Inventory Control, with the ability to maintain accurate stock records and reports.
Hands-on operational skills in Packing and Unloading, ensuring safe handling, storage, and dispatch of materials.
Experience with Forklift Operation or similar material-handling equipment, following safety standards and site guidelines.
Prior experience as a store keeper or in construction site stores management, preferably in the infrastructure or building sector.
Ability to use basic computer applications and inventory software for data entry, tracking, and reporting.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail and adherence to procedures.
Effective communication skills to coordinate with project, procurement, and finance teams.
Minimum high school diploma; a technical or commerce-related qualification is an advantage.
Knowledge of safety standards and compliance related to material storage and handling.
