About The Role
ISR Recruitment is collaborating with a prominent global software organization to recruit a highly skilled Senior Backend Engineer for its Product & Engineering team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on a next-generation B2B SaaS platform that is designed to be scalable, secure, and highly available. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the architecture and engineering standards of the platform, contributing to its ongoing evolution to meet the demands of a diverse, international client base. The position is ideal for an experienced engineer with a proven track record in delivering enterprise-level SaaS solutions, particularly within multi-tenant environments. Qualifications
Over 8 years of professional software engineering experience, with a strong emphasis on backend development.
Extensive experience in delivering B2B SaaS products in a commercial setting.
Proven expertise working with multi-tenant SaaS platforms, ensuring scalability and security.
A consistent career progression with stability and long-term commitment within engineering teams.
Deep hands-on experience with C#, .NET Core, and modern .NET frameworks, ideally including .NET 8 and/or .NET 10.
Strong background in designing, building, and deploying production-grade software on the Microsoft technology stack.
Proficiency in developing RESTful APIs and backend services.
Experience working with relational databases, SQL, and cloud-based database solutions such as Azure SQL.
Knowledge of deploying and managing applications within cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining the core components of the company's cloud-native SaaS platform. Your responsibilities will include:
Designing, building, and maintaining robust backend services, APIs, and reusable libraries to support the platform’s features and integrations.
Writing high-quality, clean, and testable code using C# and the latest .NET technologies.
Participating in architectural discussions and decisions to ensure the platform remains scalable, secure, and resilient.
Developing RESTful APIs and backend services that are consumed by web and mobile clients, ensuring optimal performance and security.
Implementing event-driven and asynchronous components using technologies such as Azure Service Bus to facilitate scalable communication.
Working with relational databases to develop efficient SQL queries and database schemas.
Building and deploying cloud-based applications within Microsoft Azure, leveraging its services for scalability and reliability.
Participating in code reviews, automated testing, and adherence to engineering best practices to maintain high-quality standards.
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including refactoring, performance tuning, and technical debt reduction.
Collaborating within an Agile environment, translating functional and technical requirements into robust software solutions.
Mentoring junior engineers, fostering a culture of excellence, and contributing to the elevation of engineering standards across the team.
Benefits
The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary ranging from approximately £60,000 to £80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
