Role Overview:
The Product Manager will own and manage assigned categories. The role focuses on driving profitable growth, strengthening category leadership, and ensuring successful product launches in India.
The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including sourcing, supply chain, marketing, finance, design, and sales to ensure market-relevant, commercially viable, and innovative products.
Key Responsibilities:
1)Portfolio & Lifecycle Management
• Own the complete product lifecycle from ideation to end-of-life decisions
• Track and improve product margins, pricing, schemes, and discount structures
• Drive accurate product forecasting and demand planning in coordination with supply chain and sales teams
• Track performance vs plans across channels
• Rationalize portfolio based on performance, profitability, and strategic fit.
2)Market & Consumer Insights
• Conduct continuous market and competitive analysis
• Identify opportunities based on consumer needs, trends, and unmet gaps
• Leverage primary and secondary research to assess sales potential, positioning, and pricing
• Track emerging technologies, materials, and innovations
3)New Product Development (NPD)
• Lead new product development initiatives from concept to commercialization
• Define product briefs, specifications, and business cases
• Work with sourcing, design, and quality teams to ensure cost, quality, and timeline adherence
• Evaluate and integrate new technologies, including IoT and smart features where relevant
4)Product Launch & Go-to-Market
• Develop comprehensive launch strategies for new products across channels
• Coordinate with marketing on BTL activities, digital plans, and content requirements
• Drive packaging and gift box design in collaboration with marketing and design teams
• Support creation of supporting assets such as recipe books, demos, and training material
5)Sales Enablement & Performance Tracking
• Work closely with sales teams to track product performance and gather market feedback
• Support sales with product training, presentations, and competitive comparisons
• Continuously refine offerings based on customer and channel feedback
Skill Set & Qualifications:
Education:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is mandatory
• MBA preferred, ideally from a reputed institute
Experience:
• Min 4 years of experience in product management, category management, or NPD
• Prior experience in D2C brand, consumer durables, FMCG appliances, or related categories preferred
Core Competencies:
• Strong analytical and numerical skills with structured problem-solving ability
• High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
• Proven ability to translate ideas and vision into clear product definitions and requirements
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and standard business tools
