Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Jr Accountant / Accountant role located in Patna. The role involves handling day-to-day accounting entries, maintaining ledgers, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. The Jr Accountant / Accountant will manage accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank statements, and support monthly and annual closing activities. Responsibilities include ensuring proper documentation, assisting with taxation and compliance filings, and coordinating with project and operations teams on cost and expense tracking. The role also involves generating routine financial reports, responding to internal queries on accounts, and supporting the senior finance team with audits and process improvements.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in accounting principles, including journal entries, ledger maintenance, and reconciliation.
Ability to work with accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP systems) and proficiency in MS Excel and basic MS Office tools.
Knowledge of Indian taxation, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance relevant to a construction/engineering business.
Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong organizational and documentation skills.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with finance, project, and vendor teams.
Ability to work full-time on-site in Patna and manage multiple tasks within deadlines.
Educational background in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field (e.g., B.Com, M.Com, MBA in Finance).
Prior experience or internship in accounting or finance is preferred; familiarity with construction or infrastructure sector is an advantage.
