Role Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Credit Controller to join our team in a part-time, remote capacity. In this role, you will monitor customer accounts, track outstanding balances, and manage debtor ledgers to ensure timely payments. Daily responsibilities include reviewing credit terms, assessing credit risk, coordinating debt collection efforts, and communicating with clients regarding overdue invoices and payment plans.
You will also work closely with internal finance staff to reconcile accounts, prepare aging reports, and support cash flow forecasting related to receivables. Proficiency with financial and billing systems is essential, along with maintaining accurate documentation and upholding professional, courteous communication with both internal and external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For:
We are looking for a professional with strong skills in credit control and credit management someone who can assess creditworthiness, set appropriate terms, and oversee customer credit limits. You should be experienced in debt collection and managing debtors, including following up on overdue accounts, negotiating payment arrangements, and reducing bad debt.
A solid foundation in finance is essential, with the ability to interpret financial data, reconcile accounts, and support cash flow forecasting and reporting. You bring strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with sharp attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping.
Proficiency in spreadsheet and accounting or ERP software is required, and you should be comfortable working in a remote, technology-enabled environment. Effective written and verbal communication skills are a must, with a professional and respectful approach to client interactions.
Prior experience in credit control, accounts receivable, or financial operations is required; experience in consulting or the utility sector is an advantage. Relevant education in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
