Senior Digital Twin Technical Program Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Digital Twin Technical Program Manager based in the United States.
This role leads the delivery of an advanced Digital Twin Platform that combines real-time 3D, physics simulation, industrial data, and IoT technologies.
You’ll guide complex engineering programs that enable customers to simulate, test, optimize, and predict the behavior of real-world assets before making physical changes.
The position sits at the intersection of technical program leadership and hands-on engineering expertise, requiring strong judgment around architecture, scope, risk, performance, and delivery.
You’ll coordinate multidisciplinary teams across engineering, design, and data while aligning dependencies and priorities across multiple workstreams.
The role offers the opportunity to influence platform strategy while working closely with engineers on technical designs, architecture decisions, and implementation challenges.
You’ll help balance simulation fidelity, runtime performance, resource constraints, and release commitments in a rapidly evolving technology environment.
This position can be performed remotely within the U.S. or in a hybrid capacity from Cary, North Carolina.
Accountabilities
Own and manage the Digital Twin Platform program plan, defining scope, objectives, dependencies, milestones, and delivery commitments in collaboration with engineering leads and key stakeholders.
Coordinate real-time 3D, simulation, and data integration workstreams, ensuring dependencies are understood and aligned with the overall roadmap.
Plan and continuously adjust schedules, scope, resources, and quality expectations as requirements and technical conditions evolve.
Make clear, informed trade-offs between simulation fidelity, runtime performance, technical feasibility, and delivery timelines.
Serve as the central point of contact for technical and business issues, participating actively in architecture and design reviews.
Translate technical constraints and engineering considerations for business stakeholders while communicating business priorities clearly to technical teams.
Identify, track, and mitigate technical risks involving asset and content pipelines, engine and toolchain upgrades, GPU and hardware dependencies, and third-party licensing.
Escalate significant risks and issues with well-defined recommendations and potential courses of action.
Coordinate domestic and international engineering, design, and data teams, resolving resource conflicts and cross-functional dependencies constructively.
Maintain comprehensive program documentation, including schedules, plans, risk registers, status reports, decisions, and roadmap updates.
Communicate program progress, major decisions, risks, and changes to senior and executive stakeholders.
Monitor developments in real-time simulation technologies, standards, and practices and share relevant knowledge across program and project management teams.
Ensure applicable security policies and secure software development practices are incorporated throughout program delivery.
Promote accountability, curiosity, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the program.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another quantitative or technical discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
8+ years of combined experience in software engineering and technical program or project management.
At least 3 years of experience managing large-scale, complex software programs.
Hands-on engineering experience delivering real-time 3D or simulation applications using Unreal Engine or a comparable real-time engine.
Ability to review technical designs, estimate engineering effort, evaluate technical risks, and engage directly with engineering teams without requiring significant technical translation.
Strong understanding of simulation fundamentals, including physics modeling, sensor simulation, and synthetic data generation.
Familiarity with 3D and industrial data interchange technologies, including USD, CAD formats, IoT data, telemetry ingestion, or comparable pipelines.
Demonstrated success delivering multi-team software programs across locations and time zones while managing scope, dependencies, resources, risks, and delivery commitments.
Strong technical judgment and ability to understand emerging developments in real-time simulation and apply them to complex delivery challenges.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt technical and business messaging for diverse audiences.
Strong results orientation, organizational skills, accountability, and ability to remove delivery obstacles proactively.
PMP, PgMP, SAFe certification, or equivalent program management training is preferred.
Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse, OpenUSD pipelines, or comparable technologies connecting CAD/PLM systems with real-time engines is a plus.
Background delivering digital twin, industrial simulation, robotics, autonomous systems, or related products in manufacturing, energy, utilities, or logistics is preferred.
Experience integrating analytics and streaming data into simulation environments is advantageous.
Experience with relevant enterprise analytics or software platforms is a plus.
