About the Role
We are looking for a strong Full Stack Developer with a Backend / Platform Engineering focus to join our product engineering team.
The developer will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining scalable web applications, backend services, APIs and reusable platform capabilities using modern technologies such as Node.js, TypeScript, PostgreSQL and React.js.
This is a product engineering role where the developer will work on different features, modules, integrations and technology initiatives based on business requirements. The role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, problem-solving ability, ownership and the ability to work across different technical areas.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
Design and implement secure, reliable and well-structured REST APIs.
Design and optimize PostgreSQL databases, including schemas, relationships, indexes and queries.
Develop reusable backend services, libraries and platform components.
Build business applications and features involving data management, business rules, workflows and integrations.
Implement authentication, authorization and role/permission-based access control.
Design secure API-level authorization and data-access controls.
Develop secure file upload, download, processing and storage capabilities where required.
Integrate applications with cloud services, databases, object storage and external APIs.
Work with technologies such as AWS S3 / S3-compatible storage / MinIO where required.
Work with search technologies such as Elasticsearch where applicable.
Implement audit logging, application monitoring and security-related events.
Develop integrations with third-party systems and services.
Work with React.js for frontend development and API integration when required.
Participate in technical design, architecture and system-design discussions.
Collaborate with frontend and backend developers to define API contracts and data models.
Troubleshoot performance, scalability, reliability and production issues.
Write clean, maintainable, reusable and testable code.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
Work with engineering/DevOps teams on Docker, CI/CD and deployment environments.
Take ownership of features from requirement → design → development → testing → deployment → production support.
Must-Have Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Node.js
Strong experience with TypeScript
Good experience with PostgreSQL
Strong experience developing REST APIs
Good understanding of backend architecture and service design
Understanding of authentication and authorization
Understanding of RBAC / permission systems
Experience with database design and data modelling
Experience with file handling, uploads/downloads or similar backend processing
Understanding of cloud and object-storage concepts

Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
Important
This is a product engineering and platform development role, not a basic CRUD application development role.
We are looking for a developer with strong fundamentals in backend engineering, APIs, databases, security, system design and software architecture.
The engineer may work across multiple products, modules, integrations and technology initiatives based on business and product requirements.
