Configuration Management Analyst

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Configuration Management Analyst based in the United States.
This role is responsible for protecting the integrity, accuracy, and traceability of product data throughout the hardware lifecycle. You’ll own configuration control processes spanning engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and production. Working hands-on with Arena PLM, you’ll manage bills of materials, revisions, item masters, lifecycle phases, and engineering change processes. You’ll help ensure teams work from a consistent and reliable source of truth as hardware moves from design through production and flight. The role also provides an opportunity to support configuration baselines for flight and safety-critical systems and contribute to audit readiness. It is a remote position with approximately 25% travel and offers the opportunity to work on advanced space hardware programs.
Accountabilities
Own configuration control within Arena PLM, administering item masters, bills of materials, revisions, lifecycle phases, and engineering change objects such as ECOs, ECRs, and deviations.
Manage the document and engineering change process by processing, routing, tracking, and coordinating requests and orders through review and approval.
Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and production stakeholders to ensure configuration changes are accurately implemented and traceable.
Maintain the integrity of product data by auditing part numbers, revisions, BOM structures, and related records for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Identify and resolve configuration discrepancies proactively before they result in manufacturing, quality, or production issues.
Support Engineering Review Board and Configuration Control Board meetings by preparing document packages, coordinating materials, tracking action items, publishing minutes, and maintaining change logs.
Develop, maintain, and enforce configuration management procedures, work instructions, naming conventions, and numbering standards in alignment with applicable industry practices such as AS9100.
Establish and maintain traceability across as-designed, as-built, and as-flown configuration baselines, with particular attention to flight and safety-critical hardware.
Train and support engineers, buyers, production personnel, and other stakeholders on Arena workflows and configuration management processes.
Serve as a key internal resource for PLM-related questions and help teams follow configuration control disciplines effectively.
Support internal audits, customer reviews, and regulatory or compliance inspections by preparing accurate configuration and change-management records.
Help continuously improve configuration management processes and contribute to a culture of data accuracy, accountability, and operational discipline.
Requirements
5+ years of experience in configuration management, engineering data management, document control, PLM administration, or a closely related field.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Hands-on experience administering Arena PLM, with the ability and willingness to quickly develop advanced expertise in the platform.
Strong understanding of configuration management principles, including BOM structures, revision control, engineering change processes, lifecycle management, and configuration baselines.
Familiarity with established configuration management standards and industry practices.
Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with large volumes of technical and product data.
Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate records throughout complex product lifecycles.
Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to enforce process discipline constructively while maintaining efficient workflows and avoiding unnecessary bottlenecks.
Experience in a hardware or aerospace startup environment is strongly preferred.
Experience supporting data migrations or PLM system implementations, including launching, restructuring, or reconfiguring a PLM environment, is a plus.
Exposure to ERP/MRP systems and an understanding of how these systems interact with PLM processes is beneficial.
Familiarity with drawing and model-based definition practices is advantageous.
Previous experience supporting satellite, launch vehicle, or other space hardware programs is a plus.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents of the United States, or protected individuals as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), in accordance with U.S. Government space technology export regulations.

Salary range of $85,000–$100,000 per year for the remote position.
