Company Description Parichha Thermal Power Project is a coal-based power generation facility operated by Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL), a state-owned enterprise responsible for electricity generation in Uttar Pradesh, India. Role Description The Chief Engineer is a full-time, on-site leadership role based at Parichha Thermal Power Project in Uttar Pradesh, India. This position oversees the overall technical, operational, and maintenance activities of the plant, ensuring reliable power generation and adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising engineering teams, planning and monitoring preventive and corrective maintenance, reviewing plant performance data, and coordinating with operations, safety, and compliance departments. The Chief Engineer leads root-cause analyses for technical issues, implements efficiency and modernization initiatives, and ensures compliance with regulatory and statutory requirements. The role also involves budgeting for engineering activities, managing vendor and contractor relationships, mentoring team members, and preparing technical reports and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in mechanical, electrical, or power engineering, with demonstrated experience in thermal power plant operations and maintenance.
Proficiency in plant performance analysis, equipment diagnostics, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
Experience with safety management systems, environmental compliance, and relevant industry codes and regulations.
Ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, manage projects, and coordinate with operational and administrative functions.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the capacity to handle complex technical challenges under time constraints.
Effective written and verbal communication skills for reporting, stakeholder coordination, and technical documentation.
Proven experience in budgeting, resource planning, and vendor or contractor management in an industrial or power sector setting.
Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering from a recognized institution; advanced certifications in power plant engineering or project management are an advantage.
Prior leadership experience in a large thermal power station or similar heavy industrial facility is highly beneficial.
