Position Summary
The Business Analyst partners with business stakeholders to analyze, improve, and support products, services, processes, and strategic initiatives. The role translates business needs into clear requirements, process documentation, business procedures, and implementation activities.
The Business Analyst also uses process mapping techniques and business analysis methodologies to identify opportunities, support informed decision-making, and contribute to effective business solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Analysis & Process Improvement
- Analyze business processes, workflows, and operational needs to identify issues, opportunities, and areas of improvement.
- Elicit, document, prioritize, and validate business requirements, assumptions, decisions, and business scenarios.
- Develop current- and future-state process maps using BPMN or other appropriate process modeling techniques.
- Identify process gaps, exceptions, dependencies, and opportunities to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Translate business needs into clear, actionable requirements for business and technical teams.
Product & Initiative Support
- Serve as business analyst for assigned products, services, or initiatives and maintain working knowledge of related business processes and requirements.
- Support product enhancements, process improvements, technology initiatives, and other organizational priorities through business analysis and impact assessment.
- Assist in translating new concepts and business needs into requirements, process changes, and implementation activities.
Business Readiness & Change Support
- Assess the operational impact of proposed changes on business processes, procedures, roles, and stakeholders.
- Support the development of procedures, job aids, communications, training materials, and other business-readiness activities.
- Work with stakeholders to support effective implementation and adoption of new processes, systems, or services.
Business Controls & Risk Management
- Identify business risks, control considerations, and process dependencies during requirements and process-analysis activities.
- Incorporate appropriate controls into requirements, workflows, procedures, and testing as applicable.
- Escalate identified risks, gaps, or control concerns to appropriate stakeholders.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, requirements sessions, process-mapping discussions, and workshops.
- Ask appropriate questions to clarify business needs, objectives, constraints, and desired outcomes.
- Document decisions, action items, requirements, and outstanding issues.
- Develop presentations, recommendations, business cases, and other materials for management and stakeholders.
- Communicate complex business information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
Operational Excellence & Knowledge Management
- Identify and recommend opportunities to improve business processes, products, services, and member experience.
- Develop and maintain business-analysis documentation, process maps, requirements, procedures, and related artifacts.
- Contribute to knowledge sharing, standardization, and continuous-improvement efforts.
Business Innovation Portfolio Support
- Support Business Innovation initiatives through stakeholder engagement, requirements gathering, process analysis, research, and impact assessment.
- Assist in defining business problems and opportunities and developing recommendations that support operational improvement and organizational priorities.

IT PROJECT SPECIALIST - 95710
1. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and four years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
2. An associate degree from an accredited college in computer science, engineering, human computer interaction, interactive media, digital and graphics design, data visualization, communication or a related field, and six years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
3. A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college, and eight years of satisfactory full-time experience related to the area(s) required by the particular position and a specialization in a relevant technology, process, methodology and/or domain; or
4. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1", "2", or "3" above.
