Role Description The Senior Electrical Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai. This role is responsible for leading the electrical design for projects, including preparing detailed drawings, specifications, and calculations for power distribution and related systems. The engineer will review project requirements, develop design concepts, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and safety regulations. Day-to-day tasks include performing load calculations, selecting equipment, preparing single-line diagrams and layouts, and reviewing vendor documentation. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, supporting project planning, participating in design reviews, and collaborating with clients and contractors to resolve technical issues during design and execution.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in Electrical Design and Electrical Engineering for industrial and commercial projects.
Proficiency in Design Engineering, including preparing drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
Solid understanding of Electricity and Power Distribution systems, including load calculations and equipment selection.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Experience with relevant codes and standards, such as IEC, IS, or equivalent regional regulations.
Ability to use electrical design and CAD software tools for schematics, layouts, and modeling.
Demonstrated experience leading projects, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior staff.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively on-site with clients and contractors.
