Sr. Project Engineer (Secondary) – Power Quality

Role Description The Sr. Project Engineer (Secondary) – Power Quality will lead secondary engineering activities for power quality projects, including detailed design, review, and integration of protection, control, and measurement systems. This full-time, on-site role based in Chennai involves preparing engineering documents, single-line and schematic drawings, equipment specifications, and bills of materials, ensuring compliance with standards and customer requirements. The role includes coordinating with project managers, primary engineers, and cross-functional teams to support planning, scheduling, and technical risk management throughout the project lifecycle. The engineer will support factory acceptance tests, site commissioning activities, and technical issue resolution, while maintaining quality, safety, and cost targets. Regular communication with customers and vendors is expected to clarify technical scope, manage changes, and provide expert guidance on power quality solutions.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Electrical Engineering, with experience in power systems, protection and control, and power quality applications.
Project Engineering and Project Management skills to lead technical deliverables, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and manage scope, budget, and timelines.
Project Planning capabilities, including scheduling, resource planning, risk identification, and progress tracking for complex engineering projects.
Effective Communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers in a multicultural environment.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Experience with secondary engineering for substations or industrial power systems, including protection schemes, control panels, and related interfaces.
Familiarity with relevant standards and tools (e.g., IEC/IEEE standards, CAD tools, protection relay configuration software) is highly beneficial.
Ability to work on-site in Chennai, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and uphold safety and quality practices.
