Role Description The Advocate will handle a range of legal matters, including drafting pleadings and legal documents, reviewing case files, and preparing arguments for hearings and trials. Day-to-day responsibilities include client consultation, legal research, case strategy development, and coordination with courts and other legal authorities. The role involves representing clients in court, attending hearings, and ensuring all documentation and filings are accurate and timely. The Advocate will also maintain case records, follow up on ongoing matters, and collaborate with colleagues or external counsel as required. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Surat, requiring regular presence at the office and local courts.
Qualifications
Possession of a law degree (LLB or equivalent) from a recognized institution and eligibility to practice law as per local regulations.
Strong skills in legal research, case analysis, and drafting of legal documents such as petitions, affidavits, contracts, and notices.
Ability to present arguments clearly in court, with well-developed advocacy, negotiation, and client communication skills.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail, with strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Comfort working on-site in Surat, with familiarity or willingness to learn local court procedures and practices.
Prior experience in litigation or a law chamber is beneficial, along with familiarity with relevant areas of law (e.g., civil, criminal, commercial).
Proficiency in written and spoken English and local languages used in Surat, as required for court work and client interactions.
