ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Senior MEP Engineer to lead the site-level execution, vendor oversight, and testing & commissioning for a greenfield Engineering R&D Centre project for the Industrial Pipe Manufacturing Group in Anjar (near Bhuj), Gujarat. The project focuses on developing advanced piping and transport systems for gas and liquids.
In this hands-on site MEP supervisor role, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation of all MEP packages, enforcing strict quality and safety protocols, managing multi-vendor deliverables, and acting as a technical bridge between site execution teams, client representatives, and management.
Upon successful completion of this project phase (6–8 months), the candidate may transition into Phase 2 execution at the same location or take on new project assignments across Maharashtra or Gujarat.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Site Supervision & Quality Control:
a) Exercise hands-on management over all daily MEP installations (Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Piping) across the site.
b) Verify that all executed work, engineering drawings, and delivered materials conform strictly to project specifications, approved technical datasheets, and Purchase Orders / Bills of Quantities (POQ).
2. Vendor Management & Coordination:
a) Coordinate daily site workflows with multiple sub-contractors, equipment vendors, and specialist suppliers to ensure project schedules are met.
b) Monitor vendor progress, proactively address site bottlenecks, escalate major delays, and align with the Site Project Manager (SPM) for swift resolution.
3. Testing & Commissioning:
a) Lead hands-on involvement in pre-commissioning, testing, and balancing phases across all MEP packages.
b) Take end-to-end accountability for system integration, punch-list clearance, and final project commissioning prior to handing over.
4. Site Governance, Safety & Daily Progress Tracking (DPR):
a) Maintain detailed site logs and generate accurate Daily Progress Reports (DPR) documenting work completed, technical hurdles, manpower counts, and corrective actions.
b) Enforce strict compliance with safety guidelines, site quality benchmarks, and local/national engineering codes.
5. Customer Liaison & Technical Documentation:
a) Serve as a key point of contact for client representatives regarding site updates, quality inspections, and compliance checks.
b) Prepare, organize, and archive complete technical reports, site modification records, as-built documentation, and commissioning handbooks.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Overall Experience: Minimum 7–10 years of hands-on site supervision and MEP execution experience in industrial projects.
Primary expertise in Electrical or HVAC systems installation and testing sequences.
Comprehensive working knowledge of all supporting MEP packages (Plumbing, Fire Protection, Utilities).
In-depth understanding of electrical layouts, panel configurations, cable routing, and installation methodology in lab/industrial environments.
Project Profile: Strong preference for candidates with industrial facility, R&D lab, or process plant project backgrounds.
Communication & Management: Outstanding verbal and written communication skills to handle multi-party vendor coordination and client management comfortably.
Problem-Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot site execution bottlenecks, review layout drawings, and resolve clashes effectively on-site.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree (B.E. / B.Tech) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering.
Regional Experience: Candidates based in or with prior work experience in Maharashtra or Gujarat.
Language Skills: Proficiency in Gujarati and Marathi is a strong advantage for local vendor and labor management.
Commissioning Exposure: Direct, hands-on experience in leading the testing, balancing, and commissioning phases of large-scale industrial MEP installations.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS PACKAGE
A) Salary Structure
Salary: ₹10,000,000 to ₹12,000,000 per annum (₹80,000 to ₹1,00,000 per month gross), with flexibility for candidates bringing specialized industrial experience.
