Role Description The Production Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Gurugram, responsible for overseeing end-to-end garment production activities. This role involves planning and scheduling production, allocating resources, and ensuring that output meets quality, cost, and delivery targets. The Production Manager monitors daily line performance, coordinates with merchandising, sampling, and quality teams, and resolves production bottlenecks. The role includes supervising floor staff, implementing standard operating procedures, maintaining safety and compliance, and tracking key production metrics. The Production Manager also supports continuous improvement initiatives, vendor coordination, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
Strong production planning and workflow management skills, including capacity planning, scheduling, and line balancing in apparel manufacturing.
Experience in garment manufacturing operations, with knowledge of cutting, stitching, finishing, and packaging processes.
Proficiency in quality control and compliance practices, including familiarity with standards related to sustainable fashion and export requirements.
People management skills, with experience in supervising production teams, assigning tasks, and driving performance on the factory floor.
Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret production data, diagnose issues, and implement practical solutions.
Effective communication and coordination abilities to work closely with merchandising, design, sourcing, and quality assurance teams.
Working knowledge of production-related software or ERP tools and strong MS Excel skills for reporting and tracking metrics.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, Production Management, or a related field; relevant industry experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
Previous experience as a Production Manager or in a similar supervisory role within the apparel or textile industry is highly beneficial.
