Role Description The Accountant role at Mody Consultancy is a full-time, on-site position based in New Delhi. The Accountant will manage day-to-day bookkeeping, maintain general ledgers, and prepare financial statements in accordance with relevant standards. Responsibilities include processing invoices, handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and cash accounts, and assisting in monthly and annual closing activities. The role also involves supporting tax calculations and filings, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations, and preparing reports and documentation for clients and internal stakeholders. The Accountant will collaborate with other team members, respond to client queries, and help improve financial processes and controls.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong accounting and bookkeeping skills, including experience with general ledger management and financial statement preparation.
Candidates should possess skills in financial analysis and reporting, with the ability to interpret data and prepare clear, concise summaries for clients and management.
Candidates should possess knowledge of taxation and regulatory compliance, including familiarity with relevant local laws, standards, and filing requirements.
Candidates should possess proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel, with the ability to work with spreadsheets, formulas, and financial tools.
Candidates should possess strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant academic qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field is preferred; professional certifications (e.g., CA, CMA, CPA or equivalent) are an advantage.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and clients, are essential.
Prior experience in an accounting or consultancy environment is beneficial, though motivated candidates with strong fundamentals will also be considered.
