Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a Production Manager of Steel Melting & Rolling Mill based in Bangalore Rural. The Production Manager will oversee daily operations of the steel melting and rolling mill, ensuring optimal production output, product quality, and adherence to safety and environmental standards. Responsibilities include planning and scheduling production, coordinating with maintenance teams, monitoring process parameters, and resolving operational issues to minimize downtime. The role involves supervising and mentoring production staff, implementing standard operating procedures, and driving continuous improvement in efficiency and cost control. The Production Manager will also collaborate with quality, logistics, and procurement teams to meet delivery timelines and support organizational goals.
Qualifications
Strong technical knowledge of steel melting, casting, and rolling mill processes, including furnace operations and rolling techniques.
Experience in production planning, process optimization, and throughput improvement in a heavy manufacturing or steel plant environment.
Proficiency in quality control practices, inspection methods, and adherence to industry standards and compliance requirements.
Proven ability to lead and manage teams, with skills in workforce supervision, training, and performance management.
Demonstrated focus on workplace safety, risk assessment, and implementation of safety protocols and best practices.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle operational challenges under time constraints.
Effective communication and coordination skills for working with cross-functional departments and external stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field; relevant industry certifications are an advantage.
Prior experience as a production manager or in a similar leadership role within a steel plant or rolling mill is highly preferred.
