Role Description The Fetal Medicine role at Vida Scans is a full-time, on-site position based in Villupuram. The professional in this role will perform detailed fetal ultrasound examinations, interpret findings, and document reports in a clear and timely manner. Day-to-day responsibilities include assessing fetal growth and anatomy, identifying potential abnormalities, and communicating results and next steps to patients and referring clinicians in an understandable, compassionate manner. The role involves collaborating closely with obstetricians, radiologists, and other healthcare staff to ensure coordinated prenatal care, adhering to clinical protocols, and maintaining high standards of infection control and patient privacy. The position also includes participating in quality assurance activities, keeping up-to-date with guidelines in fetal medicine, and supporting continuous improvement in clinical workflows.
Qualifications
Relevant medical qualification such as MD / DNB in Radiology or Obstetrics & Gynecology, or equivalent, with specialized training or significant experience in fetal medicine and obstetric ultrasound.
Demonstrated proficiency in performing and interpreting fetal ultrasound scans, including anomaly scans, growth scans, and Doppler studies, using modern imaging equipment.
Strong patient communication skills, including the ability to explain findings, options, and referrals clearly and empathetically, while maintaining confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, follow clinical protocols, and contribute to safe, efficient workflow in a busy diagnostic setting.
Commitment to evidence-based practice, ongoing professional development, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards in prenatal diagnostics.
Experience in a similar fetal medicine or obstetric imaging role is preferred; familiarity with digital report systems and basic computer skills is beneficial.
