Role Description The Veterinary Assistant at Furrytails supports veterinarians and veterinary nurses in providing daily care and treatment to animals. This on-site role, based in Gurugram, includes assisting with examinations and procedures, handling and restraining animals safely, and performing basic animal care such as feeding, cleaning, and monitoring behavior. The role also involves maintaining cleanliness and organization in treatment areas, preparing equipment and supplies, and updating basic records under supervision. The Veterinary Assistant interacts with clients, helps explain post-visit instructions, and contributes to a calm, professional, and compassionate clinic environment.
Qualifications
Strong Animal Care and Pet Care skills, including safe handling, basic grooming, feeding, and monitoring animal comfort and behavior.
Ability to support Veterinary Medicine tasks under supervision, such as assisting with exams, preparing instruments, and following clinical protocols.
Client Education and Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, provide guidance on pet care, and respond to client questions professionally.
Basic understanding of animal health and welfare principles, with willingness to learn clinic procedures and adhere to safety and hygiene standards.
Ability to work on-site in Gurugram, stand for extended periods, and perform physically active tasks, including lifting and restraining animals.
Strong teamwork, reliability, and attention to detail; ability to follow instructions and maintain accurate records.
Prior experience in a veterinary clinic, pet boarding facility, or animal shelter is an advantage but not mandatory.
Relevant training or certification in veterinary assistance, animal care, or a related field is preferred.
