About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Project Engineer to join our team and provide comprehensive engineering services to the utility and industrial sectors. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a civil engineering graduate with aspirations of obtaining a Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (FE) license. The successful candidate will be involved in project design, field inspections, and coordination, contributing to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects. This position requires a proactive individual with strong technical skills, a passion for problem-solving, and a commitment to safety and quality standards. The Project Engineer will collaborate closely with project managers, field teams, and clients to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and effectively, supporting the company's reputation for excellence and innovation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited institution.
Intentions of acquiring a FE/PE license or PMP certification.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate initiative.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, CAD, and GIS software.
Willingness to perform fieldwork, which may constitute approximately 10-25% of the role based on project needs.
Responsibilities
Provide engineering services related to water, natural gas, petroleum, and other pipeline utilities, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Assist in the development of project scopes, designs, material specifications, construction standards, and cost estimates.
Prepare project designs and drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D and CADWorx, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
Support project managers in planning, scheduling, and coordinating project activities.
Participate in field inspections, including construction oversight, material testing, site surveys, and project meetings to ensure quality and safety standards are maintained.
Promote a strong safety culture by applying health, safety, security, and environmental policies across all project activities and working closely with contractors and suppliers.
Assist in resolving technical issues and making informed decisions to keep projects on track and within budget.
Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting innovative solutions and efficiencies throughout project phases.
Benefits
We offer a competitive compensation package, including full-time annual salary ranging from $65,000 to $70,000, based on experience and qualifications.
