I. Position Overview
Position Title: VP, Global Asset Management
Responsible for the company's global asset management and portfolio management operations; participates in formulating and executing global asset allocation strategies covering multiple asset classes, including public equities, fixed income, digital assets, gold and precious metals, and alternative investments.
This role requires dynamic management of the company's investment portfolio based on global macroeconomics, financial markets, industry trends, and the risk-return characteristics of assets. The incumbent must identify long-term and tactical investment opportunities while adhering to the company's investment policies and risk frameworks.
Additionally, the role involves coordinating teams across investment, research, risk, trading, compliance, and operations to drive the full implementation of investment strategies—from research and analysis to asset allocation, trade execution, and continuous monitoring—and reporting on global asset management activities to senior management.
II. Key Responsibilities
1. Global Asset Allocation and Portfolio Management
Formulate and execute global multi-asset allocation strategies; dynamically adjust the portfolio based on market conditions.
Conduct allocation research across asset classes such as equities, bonds, digital assets, gold and precious metals, and alternative investments.
Analyze global macroeconomics, interest rates, inflation, monetary policy, geoeconomics, and capital market dynamics.
Establish a portfolio allocation framework to manage concentration risks across single assets, regions, sectors, and strategies.
Regularly evaluate, rebalance, and optimize the portfolio based on risk-return objectives.
Monitor key portfolio metrics, including returns, volatility, liquidity, and maximum drawdown.
2. Investment Research and Opportunity Sourcing
Lead or participate in research on global markets and asset classes.
Evaluate potential investment projects, funds, securities, trading strategies, and alternative asset opportunities.
Establish mechanisms for screening investment opportunities and conducting due diligence.
Conduct risk-return analysis on major investment opportunities and formulate investment recommendations.
Continuously track the performance of invested assets and investment management firms.
Adjust investment hypotheses and asset allocation views in a timely manner based on market changes.
3. Risk Management
Establish a risk monitoring framework for the global investment portfolio.
Monitor market risk, credit risk, liquidity risk, operational risk, and counterparty risk. Establish and oversee risk limits and exposure management mechanisms for investment portfolios.
Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis for significant market fluctuations.
Collaborate with risk management and compliance teams to ensure investment activities align with internal policies and applicable regulatory requirements.
4. Cross-functional and Global Team Management
Maintain close collaboration with investment research, trading, risk, compliance, legal, finance, and operations teams.
Coordinate investment teams across different regions and external asset management firms.
Participate in establishing global investment processes, decision-making mechanisms, and internal management systems.
Guide the work of investment managers, asset allocation teams, and relevant professionals.
Participate in recruiting, developing, and managing investment teams in line with the company's growth stage.
5. Senior Management Reporting
Regularly report on global asset allocation and portfolio performance to the CEO, Investment Committee, and Board of Directors.
Provide professional analysis of market trends, investment opportunities, and changes in risk profiles.
Prepare materials for Investment Committee meetings and asset allocation reports.
Provide data, research, and risk analysis support for major investment decisions.
Participate in formulating the company's long-term investment strategy and developing its asset management framework.
6. External Relations and Institutional Partnerships
Establish partnerships with banks, brokerage firms, fund management companies, trading platforms, investment advisors, and other financial institutions.
Evaluate and manage external investment managers.
Participate in institutional investor meetings, industry conferences, and professional networking events.
Maintain professional relationships between the company and global financial markets and investment institutions.
III. Qualifications
1. Professional Background
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Investment, Accounting, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
Typically requires over 20 years of relevant experience in asset management, investment management, investment banking, fund management, family offices, hedge funds, or other financial institutions.
Experience in global asset allocation, multi-asset portfolio management, or institutional investment management.
Familiarity with at least two major asset classes, with an understanding of correlations and risk transmission across different assets.
Experience managing large-scale investment portfolios or making significant investment decisions.
