Role Description This is a full-time, remote Junior Commodity Broker role operating on a pure commission structure. The Junior Commodity Broker will support senior brokers in identifying opportunities in global commodity markets, sourcing suitable counterparties, and facilitating trades across product lines such as timber, metals, grain, and bioenergy. Daily responsibilities include market monitoring, gathering and analyzing pricing and supply/demand data, preparing trade proposals, and maintaining accurate documentation for transactions. The role involves coordinating with buyers, suppliers, and logistics partners to help manage the end-to-end trade process from initial inquiry through settlement. The Junior Commodity Broker is expected to build and maintain professional relationships, expand their client base, and contribute to risk-aware trading strategies while adhering to regulatory and company guidelines.
Qualifications
Strong understanding or demonstrable interest in commodity markets, trading, and brokerage activities.
Ability to apply commodity risk management and hedging concepts to support disciplined trade execution.
Excellent analytical skills, including data interpretation, market research, and pricing comparisons.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with global clients and partners.
Self-motivated, resilient, and comfortable working on a pure commission basis in a performance-driven environment.
High level of organization and attention to detail for handling documentation, contracts, and settlement processes.
Proficiency with standard business software and online research tools; familiarity with trading platforms is an advantage.
Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent relevant experience.
Interest in international trade and willingness to work across time zones when needed.
