Role Description
This Retail Development Internship is designed as a pathway to a permanent role in our upcoming BEA India setup. It follows a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site collaboration with work-from-home flexibility.
As a brand-new role, it builds on our proven Singapore operating model but is shaped around the demands of the Indian market. You will:
• Research & gather data plus insights on India's retail landscape & regulatory requirements
• Work with the Management team to implement BEA's SOPs & localise them for the Indian market requirements & needs
• Support business development efforts to drive channel expansion & partnerships
• Help create innovative market entry solutions for brands entering India through a South Indian gateway (from Singapore)
We're looking for someone flexible, adaptable & dynamic, who is comfortable challenging conventional channel norms & helping build something from the ground up.
Core Qualifications
• Analytical problem-solving: A good & practical set of analytical skills, with the ability to independently investigate issues & develop well-considered solutions before presenting them to Management.
• Professional communication: Clear, professional communication skills for collaborating with the Singapore team & preparing documentation plus presentations. Fluency in English is essential, as you will support Singapore & international clients.
• Retail market knowledge: Foundational experience or knowledge of retail, including a good understanding of India's online market, particularly the FMCG sector.
Other Criteria
• Innovative mindset: A positive attitude & a willingness to challenge norms. We're doing something unique, so we're looking for someone equally unique in mindset & approach to business development.
• Drive & discipline: Self-disciplined, determined & results-oriented. Our internship programme will help you develop these strengths further.
• Cross-cultural collaboration: Comfortable working across cultures & time zones (2-3hour difference) with the Singapore team & able to manage your own schedule in a hybrid setting.
• Digital & data tools: Proficiency in MS Office, Google Sheets, basic AI tools & presentation tools. Familiarity with Indian e-commerce / quick-commerce & offline retail setup plus knowledge of any South Indian language is a plus.
