Role Description This part-time remote Payroll Specialist role is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for Taco Casa team members. On a day-to-day basis, the Payroll Specialist will collect and verify timekeeping data, process payroll runs, and handle adjustments such as overtime, bonuses, and corrections. The role includes managing payroll tax calculations, supporting compliance with relevant regulations, and coordinating garnishments and other deductions as required. The Payroll Specialist will collaborate with management and human resources to resolve payroll inquiries, maintain employee records, and assist with payroll-related reporting. This role requires a high level of confidentiality, attention to detail, and consistent communication with stakeholders in a remote work setting.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in payroll administration and payroll processing, including managing regular cycles and off-cycle payments.
Knowledge of payroll taxes and related regulatory requirements, with the ability to ensure accurate calculation and timely submission.
Experience handling garnishments and other statutory or voluntary deductions within payroll services.
Proficiency with payroll software or systems, and strong skills in spreadsheets and basic data analysis.
Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to maintain confidential information.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain payroll information clearly to team members.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage deadlines, and prioritize multiple tasks.
Previous experience in hospitality, retail, or multi-location payroll environments is beneficial.
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework or certification in payroll or accounting is a plus.
