PLC Programmer

Role Description The PLC Programmer will design, develop, test, and maintain PLC-based control systems for industrial automation projects. Responsibilities include creating and modifying PLC logic, configuring I/O and communication networks, and integrating PLCs with SCADA, HMI, and other control platforms. The role involves troubleshooting and resolving control system issues, performing on-site commissioning, and ensuring that solutions meet performance, safety, and regulatory requirements. The PLC Programmer will collaborate closely with engineering, project management, and client teams to gather requirements, prepare documentation, and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai.
Qualifications
Strong PLC programming skills in platforms such as Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Schneider, or similar, including ladder logic and function block programming.
Experience with industrial automation systems, including control panels, sensors, actuators, VFDs, and integration with SCADA/HMI interfaces.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings, with solid troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities.
Working knowledge of industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP) and networking basics for control systems.
Understanding of safety standards and best practices in automation (e.g., interlocks, emergency stops, safety PLC concepts).
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics, or related engineering discipline.
Effective communication and documentation skills, with the ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and interact directly with clients.
Willingness to work on-site in Chennai and occasionally travel to customer locations for commissioning and support.
Experience with LabVIEW, AI-based automation, or cloud-connected industrial solutions is an advantage.
