Role Description The Director of International Expansion is a full-time remote role responsible for leading the organization’s strategic growth into new international markets. This role oversees market assessments, evaluates partnership opportunities, and designs expansion strategies that align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day responsibilities include coordinating cross-functional teams, reviewing market research reports, setting priorities and timelines, and preparing business cases for new projects. The Director will cultivate relationships with international stakeholders, monitor performance of expansion initiatives, and report on risks, opportunities, and outcomes to senior leadership. The role also involves establishing governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with international standards, and continuously optimizing plans based on analytical insights and feedback from regional teams.
Qualifications
Strong Business Expansion and strategic planning skills, with experience in developing and executing international growth initiatives.
Advanced Analytical Skills and Market Research capabilities to interpret data, assess opportunities, and support evidence-based decision-making.
Proven Team Management and cross-functional leadership experience, including planning, coordination, and performance oversight.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively across cultures and time zones.
Experience in the water, utilities, infrastructure, or public services sector is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business, Economics, International Relations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Demonstrated ability to work remotely with high levels of accountability, adaptability, and self-organization.
Familiarity with international regulatory frameworks, project finance, and public–private partnerships is an advantage.
