Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Security Alarm & Camera Installer role based in Auckland. The installer will set up, configure, and test security alarm systems and surveillance cameras at customer locations, ensuring proper placement, wiring, and functionality. Daily tasks include performing site assessments, running cables, mounting devices, connecting systems to networks, and verifying system operation with customers. The role also involves troubleshooting and repairing existing installations, documenting work performed, and explaining system features and basic maintenance to end users. The installer will follow safety standards and company procedures while coordinating with the wider team to meet project timelines and customer expectations.
Qualifications
Strong understanding of physical security concepts and hands-on experience with alarm and camera hardware installation.
Knowledge of cybersecurity, information security, and best practices for securing connected security devices.
Experience with network security, including configuring routers, switches, and secure remote access for IP cameras and alarm systems.
Clear, professional communication skills for interacting with clients, documenting work, and collaborating with team members.
Basic electrical or low-voltage wiring skills and familiarity with tools used for installation and maintenance.
Ability to read technical diagrams and installation manuals, and to follow safety and compliance standards.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer sites within the Auckland region.
Previous experience in security installation, IT, or a related technical field, and relevant certifications or trade qualifications are an advantage.
