About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
We are looking for an Internal Operations Associate who will take ownership of day-to-day internal coordination and help optimise the overall way Mecherd operates.
You will work closely with different teams and leadership to ensure projects, tasks, communication, and internal processes move smoothly. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys bringing order to ambiguity, identifying inefficiencies, and building better systems rather than simply managing tasks.
What You'll Do
Internal Team Coordination
Coordinate across internal teams to ensure tasks, projects, and deliverables stay on track.
Follow up on dependencies, deadlines, and pending actions.
Maintain clear visibility on ongoing work and flag potential delays or bottlenecks.
Facilitate communication between teams and leadership.
Help ensure priorities are clearly understood and executed.
Process Optimisation
Understand how work currently flows across the organisation and identify gaps or inefficiencies.
Develop and improve SOPs, workflows, checklists, and internal processes.
Identify repetitive or manual processes that can be simplified, standardised, or automated.
Continuously look for ways to make the organisation faster, more organised, and more efficient.
Establish systems for tracking work, accountability, and follow-ups.
Operations & Reporting
Maintain internal trackers, dashboards, and operational documentation.
Create regular updates on project status, team bandwidth, pending tasks, and operational bottlenecks.
Ensure important information is documented and easily accessible.
Support leadership with operational insights and follow-through on key initiatives.
Cross-functional Support
Work across different functions and projects as an internal point of coordination.
Help translate leadership priorities into actionable tasks for relevant teams.
Step in to solve operational issues before they become larger problems.
Support the implementation of new tools, processes, and systems across the company.
What We're Looking For
3–4 years of experience in operations, business operations, project management, consulting, or a similar role.
Experience working in a consulting, professional services, agency, or project-based business is preferred.
Strong organisational and coordination skills.
Excellent follow-up and communication abilities.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture.
Comfortable working with ambiguity and independently figuring things out.
Strong problem-solving mindset — you should naturally ask, "How can we make this work better?"
Ability to work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Comfortable using tools such as Google Workspace, Notion, ClickUp/Asana, Slack, spreadsheets, or similar productivity tools.
You'd Be a Great Fit If You
Enjoy creating structure where there isn't much structure yet.
Are naturally proactive about following up and closing loops.
Can identify a process problem and take ownership of fixing it.
Don't need constant supervision to get things moving.
Are comfortable working across different teams and projects.
Think in terms of systems, processes, and outcomes, not just individual tasks.
Can balance being detail-oriented with being commercially and strategically aware.
What This Role Offers
Fully remote role with flexibility.
Opportunity to work directly with leadership and influence how the company operates.
Significant ownership over internal systems and processes.
Exposure to multiple functions, projects, and business decisions.
Opportunity to build and improve processes in a growing consulting environment.
