Role Description This is a part-time, remote Accountant role responsible for supporting core finance and accounting activities. The Accountant will prepare and review journal entries, maintain general ledger accounts, and assist in month-end and quarter-end closing processes. Daily tasks include reconciling bank and account statements, monitoring accounts payable and accounts receivable entries, and ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions. The role also involves supporting budget tracking, assisting with financial reports and variance analyses, and helping maintain compliance with internal controls and relevant accounting standards. The Accountant will collaborate with finance team members, respond to inquiries from stakeholders, and contribute to process improvements that enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of general accounting principles, including experience with journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and account reconciliations.
Proficiency with accounting and financial software tools, as well as spreadsheets (e.g., Excel) for data analysis and reporting.
Ability to prepare, interpret, and present financial reports, budgets, and variance analyses with attention to detail and accuracy.
Understanding of compliance requirements, internal controls, and relevant standards (e.g., GAAP or IFRS) and willingness to follow established policies.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate remotely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a part-time, remote environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification (such as CPA or equivalent) is a plus.
Prior experience in a corporate or technology-focused environment is beneficial, along with a commitment to ethical practices and continuous learning.
