Database Architect

GA Digital Web Word Pvt Ltd is looking for an experienced Database Architect to design and own high-performance, scalable data architectures for a mission-critical product suite at UIDAI's Technology Centre, Bengaluru.
About the Role
As Database Architect, you'll lead all aspects of data solution architecture — from setting data standards and best practices to designing highly available, disaster-recovery-ready data stores. You'll work closely with development squads, product management, and customers to translate business needs into robust, production-grade database systems, as part of the cross-platform Database Services team.
Education
BE / B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA or equivalent
Post-graduation in technology preferred
Strong oral and written communication skills; well-versed with program management tools
Experience
10+ years of database experience across MySQL, PostgreSQL, MS-SQL, HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.
Knowledge of CEPH is mandatory
Background as a software developer, data architect, or in a data management role
Expert-level knowledge of at least two database technologies (MySQL, Postgres, MS SQL Server, Vertica, Snowflake, DynamoDB, MongoDB, DocumentDB, Map-R, Cassandra, etc.)
Solid understanding of relational and non-relational database technologies — their trade-offs and best-fit use cases
Experience with databases in public cloud, preferably AWS
Strong automation proficiency, analytical skills, and ability to perform system monitoring and performance tuning
Key Responsibilities
Create and maintain high-performance, scalable, and stable data architectures for the product suite
Research new database methods and technologies to fully utilize platform capabilities
Work with customers, development squads, and product management to identify and document use-case scenarios
Set data standards and provide technical expertise on best practices, systems, and architectures
Design highly available data architectures and solutions that meet disaster recovery requirements
Design effective data store solutions covering capacity planning, data tiering, and lifecycle management
Design automated deployment procedures for on-premises and cloud environments
Partner with QA on detailed test plans and tooling for production-volume performance targets
Recommend improvements to new and existing database systems
Participate in code reviews and produce documentation for engineering and cross-functional teams
Lead data-tier architecture and design, and contribute to system and application architecture
Support performance tuning and development of performance-critical code
Architect and implement HA/DR/backup/maintenance strategies
Own SLAs across multiple database platforms and troubleshoot issues as they arise
Stay current on emerging database platforms and technologies
