Clinical Lead Veterinarian (Contractor)

Help build a better way to support dogs with chronic allergies and the people caring for them.
SnoutRx is developing a remote canine allergy care service that brings together veterinary guidance, owner education, symptom tracking, and follow-up. We’re looking for an experienced veterinarian who wants to help shape a thoughtful, practical clinical service.
This is an opportunity to work directly with the founder, influence the care model from the beginning, and help owners who often struggle to make sense of recurring symptoms and next steps. You’ll have meaningful input into the protocols and workflow, alongside paid clinical work as the pilot begins.
What you’ll do
Shape the clinical approach to intake, triage, documentation, follow-up, escalation, and referrals.
Review owner histories, photos, and symptom-tracker data. Provide remote guidance or follow-up within the clinical scope approved for each pilot state, including scheduled video consultations where appropriate.
Help owners understand when their dog needs an in-person examination, diagnostics, urgent care, or specialist referral.
Review AI-assisted drafts before any clinical response is sent. You retain clinical judgment and responsibility for your work.
Work closely with the founder to learn from pilot cases and improve the experience for owners and veterinarians.
You may be a good fit if you
Are a DVM or VMD with an active veterinary license in New Jersey, Virginia, California, Arizona, or Ohio. New Jersey licensure is especially valuable as we evaluate our first pilot state. Please list all states where you hold an active license.
Have experience with canine allergies or dermatology and enjoy helping owners navigate ongoing care.
Communicate clearly in writing and bring careful clinical judgment to remote interactions.
Like improving workflows and are comfortable working in an early-stage environment.
Are interested in evidence-based integrative care and know when in-person care is the right next step.
Prior veterinary telehealth experience is a plus, particularly video consultations, remote follow-up, and clear written guidance to pet owners.
Engagement and compensation
This is a remote, independent contractor role with flexible pilot work. The expected rate is $60–$75 per hour, depending on experience and agreed responsibilities.
Paid time includes clinical review, documentation, owner communication, consultations, and agreed protocol development. Hours will vary with pilot demand. We’ll agree on scope, availability, and final terms before work begins.
