Role Description The Cashier role is a full-time, on-site position based at Hira Sweets outlets in New Delhi. The cashier is responsible for handling customer billing, processing cash, card, and digital payments accurately, and issuing receipts in a timely manner. Daily tasks include greeting customers, answering basic product and pricing inquiries, and coordinating with serving staff to ensure smooth order flow. The cashier maintains an organized and secure cash counter, performs end-of-day cash reconciliation, and reports discrepancies promptly. The role also involves following hygiene and safety protocols, supporting basic store operations such as packaging items or restocking at the counter, and providing courteous service to enhance the overall guest experience.
Qualifications
Strong numerical accuracy and basic math skills for handling cash, card, and digital transactions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills to interact politely and clearly with diverse customers.
Customer service orientation, with the ability to remain calm, respectful, and helpful during busy periods.
Ability to operate POS systems or billing software, and familiarity with common payment methods.
Reliability and integrity in managing cash, with attention to detail and commitment to following company procedures.
Willingness to work on-site in New Delhi, including weekends, holidays, and shifts as required.
Prior experience in retail, food service, or a cashier role is preferred but not mandatory.
Minimum educational qualification: high school diploma or equivalent.
Basic understanding of hygiene and safety practices in a food retail environment.
