PRODUCT DATA ANALYST
About the Role
The Product Data Analyst will lead the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to drive product strategy, adoption, performance, and execution for NMI’s payment gateway. This role partners closely with Product Management, Engineering, Data Insights, Sales, Support, and other stakeholders to enable data-driven decisions throughout the product lifecycle.
The successful candidate is highly motivated, curious, analytical, and passionate about using data to uncover insights and improve product performance. You will build data frameworks, dashboards, reporting processes, and analytical approaches that empower product teams to make informed decisions and grow the business
Key Responsibilities
Lead the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data to support payment gateway product strategy, adoption, and execution.
Create and own data roadmaps that improve product performance transparency for stakeholders.
Manage data analytics dashboards, track KPIs, and deliver clear, actionable insights to Product Managers.
Monitor data accuracy and proactively investigate issues, anomalies, and data integrity incidents.
Support ad-hoc reporting frameworks using customer/CAM surveys, product usage statistics, market research, and other relevant data.
Conduct opportunity sizing analyses and develop forecasting models to support strategic decision-making.
Partner with Engineering and Data Insights to design, build, and document analytics frameworks for product experimentation, A/B testing, and advanced modeling.
Analyze large transaction datasets to identify trends and opportunities across channels and payment methods, including card, ACH, and P2P.
Help Product Managers define, track, review, and respond to relevant KPI metrics through monthly, quarterly, and yearly analysis cadences.
Respond to performance inquiries from partners, Support, Engineering, and Product teams; communicate data breakages and help drive resolution.
Work with Product Engineering to define the data points that products should collect.
Partner across value streams to validate financial data accuracy.
Clearly communicate data-driven findings to stakeholders on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly cadence.
Establish and inspect quarterly OKRs to measure the effectiveness of growth initiatives.
Promote analytical approaches and data-led experimentation across product teams.
Identify inefficient operational processes and automate them to reduce manual requirements.
Partner across teams to ensure financial reporting accuracy.
Facilitate ledger and ACH reconciliation by identifying discrepancies and optimizing settlement processes internally and with partners.
Document SOPs covering data ingestion, processing, reporting frameworks, and related tools.
Stay current with data science practices and contribute to the data analytics guild across NMI.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or 3+ years of experience in a technical financial services role involving data analysis and interpretation.
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail when investigating issues within complex financial systems.
Demonstrated ability to proactively respond to issues and progress initiatives across value streams.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Business acumen and ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, agile product environment.
Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
Proficiency with Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Experience building data pipelines (ELT) using Fivetran, BigQuery, dbt, or similar tooling.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience documenting SOPs for data ingestion, processing, reporting frameworks, and related tools.
Interest in data science and establishing data discipline across product teams.
Experience working with product experimentation, A/B testing, or advanced modeling.
Experience working with payment data, transaction data, or financial reporting.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
Experience:
3+ years of experience in a technical financial services role involving data analysis and interpretation may qualify in place of the degree requirement.
Experience with data analytics, visualization, data pipelines, financial data, and product analytics is relevant to the role.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range, depending on experience:
$90,000–$120,000 USD
