Role Description The Junior System Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring system performance, assisting with system configuration and upgrades, and performing routine system administration activities. The role also involves troubleshooting technical issues, providing technical support to internal teams, and documenting processes and configurations. The Junior System Engineer collaborates with senior engineers on systems design projects, participates in incident resolution, and helps ensure system reliability, security, and compliance with internal standards.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess Systems Engineering and Systems Design skills to assist in planning, implementing, and improving IT infrastructure.
Candidates should possess System Administration skills to manage user accounts, permissions, backups, and routine maintenance tasks.
Candidates should possess Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to diagnose issues, resolve incidents, and support end users and internal teams.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and a focus on reliability and security.
Familiarity with common operating systems (e.g., Windows, Linux), networking basics, and cloud or virtualized environments is beneficial.
Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate in a remote team environment.
Relevant education such as a degree or certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Willingness to learn new technologies, follow documented procedures, and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
