Role Description The Cost Accountant role is a full-time, on-site position based in Tezpur, Assam. The role involves tracking and analyzing material costs, preparing cost reports, and supporting pricing decisions for construction materials, metal wire, and pipe fittings. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining cost records, posting journal entries, reconciling inventory and purchase data, and assisting in the preparation of financial statements. The Cost Accountant will collaborate with management to identify cost-saving opportunities, monitor margins, and ensure accurate allocation of expenses. The role also includes supporting budgeting activities, responding to cost-related queries, and maintaining compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Cost Accounting and practical experience with cost analysis and reporting.
Ability to prepare, review, and interpret Financial Statements to support business decision-making.
Solid Analytical Skills for evaluating material costs, margins, and variance analysis.
Hands-on experience with Journal Entries (Accounting) and general ledger maintenance.
Foundational knowledge of Finance principles relevant to budgeting, pricing, and profitability.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and strong organizational skills.
Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets (e.g., MS Excel).
Ability to work on-site in Tezpur and collaborate effectively with operations and management teams.
Prior experience in wholesale, trading, or construction materials industry is an advantage.
