Role Description The Food Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site role based at the Tumkur facility. This role is responsible for monitoring and ensuring food safety, hygiene, and quality standards across production, packaging, and storage operations. The Food Safety Officer will conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments, oversee the implementation of food safety policies and SOPs, and ensure compliance with relevant regulatory and certification requirements. The role includes training production and quality teams on food safety practices, investigating non-conformities, coordinating corrective and preventive actions, and maintaining accurate documentation and reports. The Food Safety Officer will collaborate closely with quality assurance, production, and regulatory teams to support continuous improvement and safe product delivery.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess skills in Food Safety and Food Technology, including knowledge of food processing standards and applicable regulations.
Candidates should possess skills in Health & Safety and Hygiene, with the ability to implement and monitor workplace safety and sanitation practices.
Candidates should possess skills in Quality Assurance, including experience with audits, inspections, documentation, and compliance management.
Relevant degree or diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, Biotechnology, or a related discipline.
Experience in food, nutraceutical, or herbal extract manufacturing environments, preferably in a GMP-certified facility.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with attention to detail and ability to interpret standards and guidelines.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams and conduct training sessions.
Familiarity with national and international food safety standards and certification systems (e.g., FSSAI, HACCP, ISO) is an advantage.
