Role Description The Lead Solar Installer is a full time, hybrid role based in the Kolkata metropolitan area, with some work from home flexibility for planning, documentation, and coordination tasks. This role involves leading on-site installation of solar power systems, including mounting panels, routing wiring, configuring inverters, and ensuring systems meet safety and performance standards. The Lead Solar Installer will supervise installation teams, allocate tasks, train junior installers, and maintain adherence to project schedules. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing technical drawings, conducting site assessments, coordinating with project managers and electricians, and performing quality checks and system testing. The role also includes maintaining accurate installation records, troubleshooting system issues, ensuring compliance with local regulations, and supporting post-installation inspections and maintenance when required.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of solar power and solar systems, including system design basics, installation methods, and safety standards.
Experience working in the solar industry, with familiarity with industry best practices, codes, and regulations.
Proficient use of power tools and hand tools for electrical and mechanical installation tasks.
Demonstrated experience leading installation teams, coordinating on-site activities, and training field staff.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and installation manuals.
Understanding of basic electrical principles and safe work practices; prior work with rooftop or structural installations is an advantage.
Good communication and documentation skills, with the ability to interact professionally with clients, vendors, and team members.
Physical ability to work at heights, lift equipment, and perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions, following safety procedures.
Relevant technical diploma, trade certification, or comparable field experience in solar, electrical, or mechanical installation.
Valid local work authorization and willingness to travel within the Kolkata metropolitan area for site work.
