Senior Business Analyst - Mainframe

Work Setup: Remote (Philippines-based)

Shift: Meaningful Overlap with PST (US Pacific) Business Hours / Night Shift
What You'll Do
As a Senior Business Analyst, you will:
Elicit, analyze, challenge, document, and validate business requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, functional specifications, and process flows for enterprise and reservation systems.
Manage project and enhancement intake by defining business outcomes, estimating complexity, identifying dependencies, and preparing work for prioritization and backlog readiness.
Analyze business processes, system impacts, operational metrics, and data to support informed decision-making through dashboards, trend analysis, KPI reporting, and risk identification.
Serve as the primary liaison between Business Stakeholders, Product Management, Engineering, Quality Assurance, Architecture, Operations, and Support teams.
Prepare executive-ready project updates, decision papers, solution recommendations, and trade-off analyses tailored for both business and technical audiences.
Facilitate Agile ceremonies, remove delivery impediments, monitor sprint metrics, and promote Agile best practices while maintaining ownership of requirements quality and delivery readiness.
Act as a technical liaison across mainframe systems, legacy integrations, and enterprise interfaces by assessing system impacts and identifying practical solution options.
Qualifications
Must Have
Availability to work with meaningful overlap during PST (US Pacific) business hours.
At least 7 years of progressive experience in Business Analysis, Product Analysis, Systems Analysis, or software delivery within complex enterprise environments.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience eliciting, documenting, and validating:
Business requirements
User stories
Acceptance criteria
Functional specifications
Process flows
Proven experience managing:
Project intake
Backlog readiness
Prioritization support
Dependency analysis
User Acceptance Testing (UAT) coordination
Stakeholder alignment
Experience working across both Scrum and Waterfall delivery methodologies, including:
Jira story creation
Agile facilitation
Sprint ceremonies
Backlog refinement
Required experience working within mainframe environments, including exposure to:
COBOL
VSAM
DB2
CICS
Legacy integrations
Enterprise interfaces
Advanced ability to translate ambiguous business needs into clear, testable, traceable requirements and actionable recommendations.
Strong Advantage
Experience supporting cloud modernization initiatives involving migration or integration with legacy mainframe platforms.
Strong facilitation, stakeholder management, executive communication, and meeting leadership skills.
Experience with:
Current-state and future-state process mapping
Gap analysis
Root cause analysis
Data analysis and reporting experience using Power BI, SQL, or similar tools.
Nice to Have
Agile certifications such as:
Certified ScrumMaster (CSM)
Professional Scrum Master (PSM)
SAFe Certification
Previous experience within the travel, hospitality, or reservation platform industry.
