Programme Officer – Research, Partnerships & Communications

The India Brain Forum (IBF) is looking for an energetic and highly organised Programme Officer to help coordinate our growing work across brain health, cognition, education, public policy, research and international collaboration.
IBF brings together researchers, clinicians, policymakers and thinkers to develop practical ideas and outputs around the brain and its relationship with health, society, education, technology and human development.
We are looking for someone who can help turn conversations and collaborations into finished work.
The role
The Programme Officer will work closely with IBF leadership and collaborators in India and internationally.
Responsibilities will include:
• coordinating IBF programmes, meetings, round tables, webinars and international collaborations
• liaising with researchers, speakers, policymakers and partner organisations
• following projects from initial discussion through to a defined output
• preparing concise research briefs, evidence summaries, background notes and meeting materials
• supporting collaborative papers, reports and policy-oriented outputs
• coordinating recorded conversations, webinars and science-communication activities
• helping develop content for the IBF website, Knowledge Bay and other public platforms
• supporting the IBF journal team where required
• maintaining programme timelines, follow-ups and an organisational calendar
• assisting with outreach to institutions and potential collaborators
• ensuring that important discussions result in clear next steps, responsibilities and deliverables
Who we are looking for
We are particularly interested in candidates with experience or strong interest in one or more of the following:
• neuroscience, medicine, psychology or brain health
• public health or global health
• public policy, economics or development
• research coordination or academic publishing
• science communication
• programme or project management
The person should be an excellent writer, comfortable reading scientific and policy material, highly organised, and able to communicate professionally with senior academics and institutional partners.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who is curious, dependable and able to take ownership of work.
The role may particularly suit an early- or mid-career researcher, health professional, science communicator or programme manager interested in working at the intersection of science, policy and society.
