Mental Dawgs is a creative company built around sound, artists and culture. We work across Production, Sound design, DJing, Audio services and creative learning.
We’re looking for someone to join Mental Dawgs and work closely with the founder across business development, growth and marketing.
This isn’t a role where we want to hand someone a fixed list of tasks and have them simply execute. We want someone who brings their own thinking and takes ownership of making things happen.
The core of the role is to create new business, relationships and commercial opportunities for Mental Dawgs, while using partnerships, marketing, artist campaigns and new initiatives to drive that growth.
What you’ll work on
Identify and acquire new clients for our audio and creative services
Build and manage outbound pipelines through email, Instagram, LinkedIn, WhatsApp, calls and networking
Develop relationships with artists, producers, filmmakers, production houses, agencies, brands, creators and other industry professionals
Find and develop partnerships, collaborations and commercial opportunities and build long-term relationships rather than focusing only on one-off sales
Support marketing, distribution and campaign planning around selected music releases and creative projects
Develop and execute marketing strategies and its different offerings
Plan and run digital campaigns, including paid advertising, where appropriate
Plan release campaigns and Develop strategies around audience growth, content, advertising, distribution and discovery
Work with artists figure out how to get their music in front of the right people, rather than simply putting it online
Who we’re looking for
Ideally, you have 2–3+ years of experience in business development, growth, marketing, music, entertainment, media, artist management, or a related field. You’ll have the freedom to explore ideas, talk to people, test things and figure out what works.
You should:
Be Commercially minded and resourceful
Be Strong at communication and relationship-building
Be Comfortable with outreach, sales and follow-ups.
Understand or be genuinely interested in the music, creative, media or entertainment ecosystem.
Be comfortable working without someone constantly telling you what to do.
Think in terms of revenue, relationships and opportunities, not just followers and likes.
Have an entrepreneurial mindset and want to help build something rather than simply execute an existing system.
The Opportunity
This is a hands-on role working directly with the founder across the commercial and the growth side. You’ll have a meaningful role in developing new business, building partnerships, shaping marketing and opening up new opportunities for the company.
There is no intention to keep a strong performer tied to a fixed entry-level package. We want the person in this role to eventually feel like they own the growth and commercial side - building relationships, developing opportunities and creating systems.
Compensation & Upside
The role comes with fixed salary + performance-based incentives.
The fixed compensation is only the starting point. As you take on greater ownership, your compensation and position within the company are intended to grow with it.
