Mechanical Design Engineer

Company Description Zuperspeed Automotive is a Bengaluru-based startup focused on building high-performance electric sports cars for aspiring Indian consumers. The company’s mission is to combine thrilling performance with aspirational design, creating a premium yet accessible brand for local sports car enthusiasts. Zuperspeed aims to set new benchmarks in the Indian automotive industry through innovation, engineering excellence, and design. The flagship product, Hyperflux, is planned as India’s first electric sports car with a targeted launch in Q2 2027. Team members have the opportunity to contribute directly to a pioneering project in the evolving electric mobility space.
Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and systems for Zuperspeed’s electric sports cars. Day-to-day tasks include creating detailed 3D models and drawings, supporting prototype development, participating in design reviews, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as electrical, software, and manufacturing. The role involves performing engineering calculations, evaluating materials and manufacturing processes, and iterating designs based on testing and validation feedback. This is a full-time hybrid role based in Bengaluru, with a mix of on-site work at the engineering facility and some work-from-home flexibility to support design and documentation tasks.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering, with the ability to apply core engineering principles to high-performance automotive systems.
Candidates should possess skills in Machine Design and Product Design, including experience designing complex mechanisms and components for reliability, safety, and manufacturability.
Candidates should possess skills in Computer-Aided Design (CAD), with proficiency in 3D modeling and drafting tools commonly used in automotive or product development.
Relevant experience in automotive, electric vehicles, or high-performance products, including familiarity with materials selection, tolerance analysis, and manufacturing processes, is beneficial.
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, and effective communication and collaboration skills are preferred.
Experience working in startup or fast-paced environments, along with an interest in electric mobility and sports car design, will be an advantage.
