Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role for a US Accountant located in Thane. The US Accountant will manage day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting for US-based clients, including recording financial transactions, preparing journal entries, and maintaining general ledgers in accordance with US GAAP. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing financial statements, handling accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, and supporting month-end and year-end closing activities. The role also involves assisting with tax compliance and filings under relevant US tax regulations, coordinating with clients to obtain required information, and responding to queries in a timely and professional manner. The US Accountant will collaborate with internal teams to ensure accurate reporting, maintain documentation and workpapers, and contribute to process improvements and quality standards.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, preferably including US GAAP, and experience with general ledger accounting and financial statement preparation.
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite or similar) and advanced skills in MS Excel for analysis and reporting.
Experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing processes.
Understanding of US tax concepts and compliance processes for individuals and businesses; prior exposure to US tax returns is an advantage.
Excellent attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and ability to maintain organized records and documentation.
Strong written and verbal communication skills for working with international clients and internal stakeholders.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate effectively within a team-based environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA (US), CA, or equivalent are an added advantage.
Prior experience in outsourced accounting, shared services, or a similar client-service environment is preferred.
