About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Research Assistant to support our events team on a contract or project basis. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys conducting research, working with data, and helping deliver successful conferences and events. Depending on business needs and performance, there may be opportunities for future projects or a longer-term engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct online research to identify potential speakers, sponsors, exhibitors, partners, and industry trends.
Build, clean, and maintain accurate datasets using Excel, Google Sheets, or CRM systems.
Verify and update contact information to ensure database accuracy.
Analyse research findings and present insights in a clear and structured format.
Support the event production team by providing targeted research for new and existing event projects.
Monitor industry news, competitor events, and emerging market trends.
Assist with audience profiling and market segmentation.
Prepare reports, summaries, and presentations based on research findings.
Ensure data quality and compliance with company data standards.
Meet agreed project deadlines while managing multiple research tasks efficiently.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Proven research and analytical skills.
Experience working with datasets, spreadsheets, and databases.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Excellent written and spoken English.
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Strong organisational and time management skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in market research, business research, data management, or the events industry.
Experience using CRM systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar.
Familiarity with LinkedIn, industry databases, and AI-powered research tools.
Experience researching international markets, conferences, or B2B industries is an advantage.

Contract or project-based engagement.
Remote Working arrangements
Hours and project duration to be agreed based on workload.
Competitive project or hourly rate, depending on experience.
