AI-First Software Engineer

Company Description FinLead AI deploys AI agents that run the complex, high-volume back-office operations for insurers, brokers, agencies, MGAs, and InsurTechs. These agents work end-to-end. The platform currently processes operations thousands of policies per month, demonstrating strong traction and real-world reliability. FinLead AI is backed by Entrepreneur First, Transpose Platform, and Plug and Play. The team is focused on transforming insurance operations by letting organisations hand over back-office workflows to AI agents, starting with fast proof-of-concept deployments.
Role Description As an AI-First Software Engineer at FinLead AI, you will design, build, and deploy production-grade AI agents that operate directly with enterprises. You will work on end-to-end software development: shaping system architecture, implementing scalable services, integrating with internal and third-party platforms, and ensuring reliability and observability of agent workflows. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include developing and optimizing models and pipelines (including NLP and pattern-recognition components), collaborating with product and operations teams to translate insurance processes into robust agent workflows, and continuously improving performance based on real-world data. You will also contribute to technical decision-making, code reviews, and documentation, and help establish best practices for AI-first engineering. This is a full-time hybrid role based in the Bengaluru Area in HSR, with a mix of on-site collaboration and a good amount of work-from-home flexibility.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including data structures, algorithms, distributed systems, and writing clean, maintainable code.
Hands-on experience with System Design and LLMs with the ability to design, create harness, and evaluate models for real-world production use.
Proficiency in one or more modern programming languages commonly used in AI/ML and backend engineering (e.g., Python, Go, Java, or similar), and familiarity with cloud platforms and APIs.
Experience building and operating production systems: testing, monitoring, logging, CI/CD, and performance optimization in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Previously deployed real systems/products at enterprises is preferable.
Experience in creating products/design/architecture from scratch is preferable.
