Corporate Accountant - General Ledger

Description
We are a generator service company with branches across the United States, and we are seeking a detail-oriented Corporate Accountant to join our corporate accounting team. This role supports a variety of general ledger, revenue, and financial reporting activities and offers exposure to cross-functional partners across Accounting, Finance, and other areas of the business.
Responsibilities
Prepare journal entries, including weekly payroll entries, and related supporting schedules
Prepare and analyze balance sheet account reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of reconciling items
Execute banking transactions, perform daily cash and bank reconciliations, and prepare cash forecasts
Support the cash application teams and assist with unapplied cash and daily cash reconciliations.
Partner with FP&A and other internal teams to ensure the completeness and accuracy of accruals, reclasses, and other accounting entries
Analyze financial results, investigate period-over-period fluctuations, and prepare variance explanations for management
Support ERP system implementation, optimization, and testing; identify opportunities to improve accounting processes through automation, technology, and data analytics
Maintain compliance with accounting policies, internal controls, and applicable financial reporting requirements, including control documentation and execution
Assist with internal and external audit requests
Participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analyses
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
3–5 years of relevant accounting, audit, general ledger, or corporate accounting experience
Experience in public accounting or within a large, multi-branch organization with complex intercompany transactions and banking is a plus
CPA or active pursuit of CPA licensure preferred
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
Strong interest in leveraging technology, automation, and process improvement
Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate financial data and draw sound conclusions
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Can also work independently and proactively identify solutions
