Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Shadow Teacher role based in Thane. The Shadow Teacher will provide one-on-one support to a designated student within a mainstream classroom, helping the learner stay engaged, follow instructions, complete tasks, and participate in classroom activities. Daily responsibilities include implementing individualized strategies, reinforcing concepts taught by the classroom teacher, assisting with behavior regulation, and supporting social interactions with peers. The role involves closely observing the student’s progress, documenting observations, and regularly communicating with teachers, therapists, and families to align on goals and interventions. The Shadow Teacher will also collaborate on lesson adaptation, contribute to review meetings, and participate in training sessions to apply best practices in inclusive education.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Teaching and Education skills, with experience supporting students in classroom or inclusive education settings.
Candidates should possess effective Communication skills, including clear verbal and written communication with students, educators, and families.
Candidates should possess Lesson Planning abilities to adapt classroom activities and instructional materials to individual learner needs.
Candidates should possess Training-related skills, such as willingness to learn, participate in professional development, and apply new instructional strategies.
Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field are preferred.
Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and consistency while working with diverse learners, including those with special educational needs.
Strong observational skills, basic record-keeping, and the capacity to follow structured intervention plans.
Prior experience in shadow teaching, special education, or remedial instruction is an advantage.
