Position Summary
The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a senior executive responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of Youth RISE Foundation and ensuring that the organization’s strategy is effectively translated into execution.
The COO reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and works collaboratively with the executive leadership team, department chiefs, directors, and staff to ensure operational excellence, organizational accountability, and sustainable growth.
The COO will oversee cross-functional operations, organizational performance, internal systems, implementation of policies and procedures, and coordination among YRF departments.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee the day-to-day operations of Youth RISE Foundation.
* Partner with the CEO to execute the organization’s strategic priorities.
* Translate strategic objectives into operational plans, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
* Coordinate the work of executive departments and ensure cross-functional alignment.
* Establish and monitor organizational performance metrics and accountability standards.
* Develop and improve operational policies, procedures, workflows, and systems.
* Identify operational challenges and implement solutions that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
* Support organizational growth, program expansion, and new initiatives.
* Work closely with the CFO regarding operational budgets, resource allocation, and financial planning.
* Work with the CHRO regarding workforce planning, organizational development, and employee performance.
* Partner with the CPO to ensure effective program implementation and operational support.
* Support compliance, risk management, internal controls, and organizational readiness.
* Provide regular operational reports and recommendations to the CEO.
* Serve as a key representative of the CEO in operational matters when delegated.
* Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

The COO serves as a principal member of the YRF executive leadership team and is expected to collaborate closely with:

* Chairperson of the Board
* Chief Financial Officer
* Chief Human Resources Officer
* Chief Programs Officer
* Chief Public Affairs Officer
* Chief Learning Officer
* Other executive and department leadership
Reporting Structure:
CEO → COO → Department/Operational Leadership
The COO is accountable to the CEO for operational performance and execution and does not independently exercise the CEO’s authority unless expressly delegated.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, public administration, healthcare administration, or related field.
* 5+ years of progressive management or executive leadership experience.
* Demonstrated experience overseeing organizational operations and teams.
* Strong strategic planning and project-management capabilities.
* Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to manage multiple departments, initiatives, and competing priorities.
* Nonprofit leadership experience preferred.
* Experience scaling organizations or building operational infrastructure preferred.
