Role Description This is a full-time on-site role for a Chinese and Continental Commis I position based in Bhopal. The role involves preparing and cooking Chinese and continental dishes according to standardized recipes and portion sizes, ensuring consistent quality and presentation. Daily tasks include food preparation, handling ingredients, assisting senior chefs, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, and following food safety guidelines. The team member will support inventory management by properly storing ingredients, minimizing waste, and reporting shortages. The role also requires collaborating with other kitchen staff during busy service periods and following all restaurant policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Relevant experience as Commis I, Commis Chef, or similar role in Chinese and/or continental cuisine.
Strong understanding of basic cooking techniques, knife skills, and kitchen operations.
Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and proper food storage practices.
Ability to follow standardized recipes, work efficiently under pressure, and maintain attention to detail.
Good communication and teamwork skills, with a positive and professional attitude.
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by restaurant operations.
Culinary diploma, certificate, or formal training in hospitality or culinary arts is an advantage.
Previous experience in a casual dining or hotel kitchen environment in Bhopal or similar setting is preferred.
