Neuro-Design Business Development Lead
Company Description
The Rewiring Lens is a boutique consultancy powered by neuroscience, working at the intersection of science, health, technology, and human performance.
We help health, wellness, technology, and experience-driven companies apply neuroscience to the development of products, services, environments, and experiences.
Our Neuro-Design offering applies neuroscience to the design of environments, services, and experiences for restaurants, hotels, airlines, and other customer-facing businesses. We develop evidence-backed recommendations that can support wellbeing, comfort, performance, enjoyment, and the overall customer experience.
By combining scientific rigor with practical design and strategy, The Rewiring Lens helps organizations translate neuroscience into actionable recommendations they can implement.
Role Description
We are looking for a motivated, entrepreneurial Neuro-Design Business Development Lead to help build and grow our Neuro-Design offering.
This is a commission-based role with significant autonomy and the opportunity to play an important role in developing a new area of the business. You will be responsible for identifying potential clients, developing relationships, introducing them to our Neuro-Design services, and helping convert qualified opportunities into consulting engagements.
Our Neuro-Design work currently focuses on sectors including hospitality, restaurants, and airlines. Projects can address areas such as environmental design, lighting, sound, scent, service flow, customer journeys, cabin environments, meal timing, and other customer touchpoints, using neuroscience-informed recommendations to support specific business and customer outcomes.
You will work closely with the founder to identify potential markets and clients, refine our business development strategy, develop outreach approaches, and communicate the value of Neuro-Design to prospective clients.
The ideal candidate will understand how businesses in hospitality, travel, luxury, experience design, or related industries operate. You should be comfortable building relationships with senior decision-makers and selling a specialized consulting service where the value comes from applying scientific expertise to business and customer experience challenges.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants meaningful ownership over the commercial development of a specialized consulting offering and is excited by the opportunity to help bring a new category of service to market.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop relationships with potential Neuro-Design clients across hospitality, restaurants, airlines, travel, luxury, and other experience-driven industries.
Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified prospective clients.
Research target companies and identify relevant decision-makers and potential business needs.
Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies.
Introduce prospective clients to The Rewiring Lens and our Neuro-Design offering.
Conduct initial conversations and discovery calls to understand client needs, priorities, and potential opportunities.
Communicate the value and potential applications of neuroscience-informed design to prospective clients.
Identify opportunities where Neuro-Design could support customer experience, wellbeing, comfort, performance, or business objectives.
Coordinate with the founder on proposals, project scoping, pricing, and closing opportunities.
Build long-term relationships with prospective and existing clients.
Identify opportunities for repeat engagements, expanded projects, and strategic partnerships.
Monitor outreach, pipeline development, conversion, and revenue generated.
Provide market feedback to help refine the Neuro-Design offering, positioning, and target markets.
Help develop the business development processes and infrastructure needed to grow the offering over time.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in business development, sales, partnerships, account management, or client acquisition.
Existing knowledge of, or professional connections within, hospitality, restaurants, airlines, travel, luxury, architecture, interior design, customer experience, or related industries.
Experience selling B2B consulting, professional services, design services, hospitality solutions, or other specialized services is highly desirable.
Proven ability to independently identify prospects, build relationships, and develop business opportunities.
Strong communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills.
Ability to communicate with founders, executives, hospitality leaders, product teams, design teams, and other senior decision-makers.
Strong understanding of consultative sales and relationship-driven business development.
Ability to understand a client's business needs and identify where a specialized consulting service could create value.
Entrepreneurial mindset and comfort working independently in an early-stage company.
Highly organized, proactive, and commercially minded.
Existing relationships within relevant industries are highly desirable.
Interest in neuroscience, human behavior, design, wellbeing, hospitality, or customer experience is a strong plus.
Compensation
This is an initial commission-based contractor position with flexible hours, designed to allow the successful candidate to develop the Neuro-Design business alongside their existing professional commitments.
The role will be compensated based on new business generated through the candidate's business development efforts.
As the Neuro-Design offering grows and revenue becomes sustainable, there is potential for the role to expand in scope and transition into a longer-term or full-time position.
Who We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who understands how hospitality, travel, and experience-driven businesses operate and who can identify where neuroscience-informed design could create meaningful value for their customers and business.
You should be comfortable opening doors, building relationships, starting conversations with senior decision-makers, and turning a new concept into commercial opportunities.
