Role Description The Managing Partner is a full-time, remote role responsible for leading the firm’s overall strategy, operations, and legal practice for its soon open Arizona. Day-to-day activities include overseeing active litigation and pre-litigation matters, setting case strategy, reviewing and refining pleadings and motions, and guiding negotiations, mediations, and trial preparation. The Managing Partner will supervise and mentor attorneys and staff, manage workflows and performance, and ensure high-quality, client-centered representation in all employment law matters. This role also involves business development, firm branding, and relationship management with co-counsel, courts, and service providers, as well as overseeing budgeting, compliance, and long-term growth initiatives. The Managing Partner will model the firm’s values of professionalism, fairness, and steady advocacy in all internal and external interactions.
Qualifications
Strong expertise in plaintiff-side employment law, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, and wrongful termination matters.
Proven leadership and management experience in a law firm or litigation practice, including supervising attorneys and staff and managing case portfolios.
Demonstrated litigation skills, such as legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, and handling mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
Business development and firm management capabilities, including strategic planning, billing and budgeting oversight, and relationship building with clients and referral sources.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex legal issues clearly and maintain a calm, professional presence with clients and opposing counsel.
Comfort with remote work, including effective use of case management, document management, and video conferencing tools, and the ability to work independently while collaborating with a distributed team.
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Arizona State Bar.
Commitment to fairness, ethical practice, and client-centered advocacy, with sensitivity to clients experiencing significant stress and workplace trauma.
